Mo Hendon was awarded the MAA Southeastern Section Distinguished Teaching Award in March 2015.  Hendon has been a devoted instructor with our department for nearly 30 years, specializing in the "bridge courses" such as Introduction to Higher Math, Linear Algebra, and Sequences and Series.

Gordana Matic was named a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society in 2015  for her contributions in low-dimensional topology.  Professor Matic has played a central role in the development of contact topology over the last twenty years.  She received the University of Georgia's Creative Research Medal in 2012.

The 2015 Mary P. Dolciani Award is presented to Sybilla Beckmann, Josiah Meigs Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at the University of Georgia, in recognition of her unique career as a mathematician whose contributions to mathematics education, particularly in the elementary grades, have been extensive and ground-breaking.
